Samsung Gaming Hub

Samsung isn’t messing about when it comes to supporting all the major cloud gaming services because its new Gaming Hub is rolling out to 2022 Smart TVs and Smart Monitors with access to the likes of GeForce Now, Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, and more. This means that you just need a supported Samsung Smart TV or Smart Monitor and a compatible gaming controller to play your favorite games on your favorite cloud gaming service without the need for a gaming console.

Besides Stadia, GeForce Now, and Xbox Game Pass, Samsung says that its Gaming Hub also supports Utomik, with Amazon’s Luna and Twitch services being added at a later date. Far from putting all their eggs in a particular basket, Samsung has decided to support most of the major players in the cloud gaming segment, with the exception of Steam, Epic, and perhaps Apple Arcade.

With the presence of the Xbox Game Pass on the Samsung Gaming Hub, you can save the money you might have spent on an Xbox Series X console and put it towards upgrading your TV, if you don’t already own a 2022 model.

Samsung has been killing it on software support for its smartphones, and now it looks as though it’s bringing this focus to its range of TVs and smart monitors.

Things you need to know:

  • While the Samsung Gaming Hub is free to install on your 2022 Smart TV or Smart Monitor, you will need to be signed up to the gaming services you want to access
  • Samsung Gaming Hub will become available on your 2022 Smart TV/Monitor through an automatic system update
  • You’ll need to connect your 2022 Smart TV/Monitor to the internet to use the Samsung Gaming Hub
  • The Samsung Gaming Hub supports all of the most popular game controllers, so if you have a PlayStation or Xbox controller already, you are good to go. The same goes for popular voice headsets

He currently carries an Honor Magic 5 Pro in his pockets, a Xiaomi Pad 5 in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
