Student internet deals and discounts

AT&T

AT&T’s Access program is available for students approved for SNAP, Head Start or NSLP. Access provides a wireless gateway device with internet speeds up to 100 Mbps for $30/mo. or less. 

Xfinity

Xfinity offers discounted internet for verified college students. You can get an internet plan starting at $25/mo. and get a Visa prepaid card up to $100. Just enter your information as well as the university you attend and once you’re a verified student, Xfinity will show you its available offers.

Xfinity also offers its Internet Essentials program to eligible customers. This program offers 50 Mbps for $9.95/mo. or 100 Mbps for $29.95/mo. If you’re participating in NSLP, public housing, SNAP or TANF, you’re eligible for Internet Essentials. If you’re eligible, you can pair Internet Essentials with the ACP program and receive free internet with the ACP’s $30/mo. stipend. 

Cox

Cox’s Connect2Compete program offers discounted internet for students. Families with K-12 students can get low-cost internet for $9.95/mo. To qualify for Connect2Compete, your household must have at least one K-12 student and participate in a government assistance program such as National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Head Start, to name a few. 

Verizon Fios

Verizon Fios offers college students discounted pricing on wireless and home internet plans.

Eligible students can save up to $10/mo. on Fios home internet plans if they’re actively enrolled in an accredited, degree-granting university. Make sure to confirm your eligibility and find out if Fios is available at your address. 

T-Mobile

T-Mobile’s Project 10Million offers students free 100 GB internet for five years and a free hotspot with no fees, costs or annual re-certifications. It also provides access to low-cost laptops and tablets. 

Students enrolled in the NSLP are eligible for Project 10Million, among other government programs like SNAP. Parents will need to provide proof of NSLP eligibility, and the project will only cover one student per household. 

Optimum

Optimum’s Advantage Internet program offers discounted internet for $14.99/mo. for up to 50 Mbps. You’ll also get free installation and equipment. The Advantage Internet program is available to households with students if you or someone in your home qualifies or participates in the NSLP or is a New York City resident attending a New York City public school.

Spectrum

Students that qualify for the NSLP, the Community Eligibility Provision or SSI may be eligible for Spectrum low-income internet through Spectrum Internet™ Assist. Eligible households may receive high-speed internet with speeds up to 30 Mbps, unlimited data and a free internet modem with no contract agreement. Lifeline

Lifeline isn’t particularly geared towards students, but eligible households can get up to $9.25 off their monthly internet bill if a student participates in a public assistance program like SNAP. Student tech discounts and deals

Apple tech student discounts

Current and newly accepted college students, their parents, members of school faculty, staff and homeschool teachers of all grade levels are eligible for Apple education pricing on a Mac or iPad. Check Apple’s website for education pricing details. 

Comcast XFINITY tech student discounts

With its university program, Xfinity offers discounted internet with equipment included. You can also receive a $100 Visa prepaid card. 

Xfinity’s Internet Essentials program also includes free equipment with its discounted internet service. 

Dell tech student discounts

Dell offers student discounts on tons of its tech equipment, and you can even find deals based on your major. Check out Dell’s student discount hub and you can choose discounts for majors including general studies and business, computer science, science and healthcare, fine arts and design, engineering and architecture or gaming and esports. 

Microsoft tech student discounts

Students and teachers from all grade levels can get Microsoft Teams for free and students can save at least 10% on Microsoft Surface devices. Deals for teachers

Verizon Fios

Verizon Fios offers a teacher discount for K-12 or post-secondary educators. If you qualify, you can get $5/mo. on 300 Mbps, $10/mo. Off on 500 Mbps and $15/mo. Off on Gigabit Connection. The $99 setup fee will also be waived for new customers if you order online. 

To qualify for the teachers discount you must be a currently employed tecahher and apply online through Verizon’s teacher discount page where you’ll need to validate your teaching employment. 

Verizon also offers teachers up to $25/mo. off on wireless plans.

T-Mobile

Administrators can also apply for T-Mobile’s Project 10Million program. If you’re a school administrator, you can apply on your student’s behalf to give them access to free internet and Wi-Fi hotspots. 

AT&T

AT&T offers teachers 25% off wireless plans. Active K-12 teachers college/university professors or instructors are eligible. 

Apple

Educators receive Office 365 Education and Microsoft Teams for Education for free, and 10% off Windows devices.
